THIS IS WHAT WE DO

Hello Neighbor,

Lending Hand is a charitable organization that is purposed and determined to be and leave a positive impact in the community.

Just to give you a little background on how we started. Two years ago, our founder, Toni Mack, decided to pack up all of her Thanksgiving leftovers in order to feed the less fortunate instead of throwing them away. She was able to feed 24 homeless individuals a hot meal and dessert with the food that she gathered! The excitement and genuine appreciation from each person that received a meal touched her heart like nothing else. Toni also made personal care bags to go along with the meals. The bags consisted of shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, a washcloth, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, and socks. It hurt her heart because there were so many more individuals that desired and could have used a meal and care bag, but she didn't have enough. The next year Toni did it again with the goal to feed and give care bags to 40 homeless individuals. Many family members and friends donated to her Thanksgiving Feed the Homeless Campaign! We were able to feed and give care bags to 60 homeless individuals as well as give out 8 tablets to families whose children are forced to do virtual learning but do not have the means and/or tools to be successful.

Our founder started The Lending Hand because she knew 1st hand how important a lending hand can be to help get you over a hump or time in your life. Over the years Toni and her son has been given a lending hand on many occasions from strangers, friends, and church members. Their assistance helped Toni & my son to get by, with food, money, Christmas gifts, school supplies, clothes, shoes, safe places to stay and the list goes on. It's now our time to pay it forward, to tap into the compassion of others and to show compassion in this world.

Toni's desire is to do more than just feed the homeless. She would love to create a safe place for the homeless community to come to, to get personal care items, take a shower and receive hot nutritional meals. A transition house for homeless men, women, couples and families. The transition house will be a safe place to stay as they prepare to transition back into society, where individuals can receive assistance with obtaining life skills to include employment, financial literacy, mental, physical, social and emotional support.

Our founder plans to use her organization to be the lending hand to all those in need within our community.
Thank you for your time, and we look forward to partnering with you to be The Lending Hand within our community.
